The Level 3 Certificate in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment is a 3-day intensive course designed for professionals in building services, architecture, surveying, or related fields, aiming to become accredited energy assessors for non-domestic buildings.
Funded through Â鶹´«Ã½AV and the Welsh Personal Learning Account (PLA), this course covers energy performance regulations, building construction, HVAC systems, and practical training in conducting site surveys and using energy assessment software.
Successful completion enables learners to register with accreditation bodies, conduct energy assessments, and issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), enhancing career opportunities in environmental consultancy, property management, and government roles.
This course is available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).

Course content
- Theoretical Study: Learn about energy performance regulations, building construction, and HVAC systems.

- Examinations: Provide and upload practical assessments to demonstrate your knowledge and skills.
Entry Requirements

The PLA programme intends to provide quality career advice and guidance to participants before, during and after their learning.
Prior to being enrolled onto your PLA funded course, a individual learning plan will be discussed with you to ensure that the right learning has been considered.
