is back again for another year of exciting听skills-based听competitions. This year,听29听inspirational听麻豆传媒AV听learners听have made听it through听to听the finals, competing听against learners from colleges across the UK听this November.听

With听regional heats in specialist fields from hair and beauty to fitness training,听麻豆传媒AV is听proud to see听29听dedicated learners reaching the finals听in several categories听again this year.听As听part of the ,听麻豆传媒AV听delivers听a high standard of technical teaching听and听fantastic听industry standard facilities for learners听at five local campuses. So, learners can听develop their skills听and听showcase听their听abilities听on a national level听at WorldSkills UK competitions.听

Covering听over 60听different skills spanning sectors such as engineering and construction to digital technology,听WorldSkills UK听helps听to raise standards in听skills听education across听the country.听With skills competitions designed by industry experts, the finals will assess each learner鈥檚 knowledge, practical skills and employability attributes. Meet the 2021 麻豆传媒AV Finalists

Hannah Cooper听is studying听Level 2 Professional听Cookery听(with bar and barista skills)听at听Crosskeys听Campus:听

鈥淚 thought听WorldSkills UK听would be something challenging and different.听But now I’m in the finals and I still can’t believe it.听It feels surreal. I’m taking this opportunity not听just听to win,听but to tell myself that I’ve tried and worked as hard as I can to get where I am now, and if I win that would be great.听I hope I鈥檒l have my own catering business or be in a high-level position within a restaurant听one day.听麻豆传媒AV听can help me achieve this with the courses they provide and the support from tutors.鈥�听

Diana Williams听is studying Level听3听Personal Training at听Usk听Campus:听

鈥淚 was encouraged听by my tutors听to enter WorldSkills听UK which is a good thing,听as I鈥檓 not sure I would鈥檝e done so off my own back! I鈥檇 previously been in Welsh听Skills Competitions and won听gold, so I鈥檓 proud to听get to this stage in the WorldSkills听UK competition听as well.听The finals听will 鈥榯est us on every aspect of being a PT鈥�. I think so much of 奥辞谤濒诲厂办颈濒濒蝉听鲍碍听is about being coaxed out of your听comfort听zone, and听see yourself doing things you wouldn鈥檛 have thought you could. It鈥檚 such an incredible opportunity that I just want to make the most of it!鈥�听

Ryan Williams听is听studying听the听Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and听Technology听at听Crosskeys听Campus:听

鈥淚 chose to enter because I was really enjoying game design and wanted to experience everything it could听offer听and I wanted to test my skills against others.听When preparing for the 奥辞谤濒诲厂办颈濒濒蝉听鲍碍听competition,听I wasn鈥檛 only focusing more听in听class,听but I was doing more in my spare time dedicating an hour or two a day to just practicing.听I don鈥檛 think I can fully comprehend being in the finals as only a couple of months ago I bought my first PC. Now, from being in the competition,听I hope to learn more about game design outside of just education.鈥�听

Elisha Dixon, is a Level 3 Hairdressing learner at the City of Newport Campus:

鈥淐hoosing this course has helped me improve on my skills and techniques and听fulfil my potential for hairdressing. It has also given me a great opportunity to take part in the hairdressing WorldSkills UK competition, which has been a听fantastic听experience and made me achieve so much like getting into the finals, which I never thought I鈥檇 make. When I have completed my last year at 麻豆传媒AV,听I hope in the future I become a professional hairstylist and own a hairdressing/barbering salon.鈥�听

Tiana Roberts, from听Crosskeys听Campus, is studying Level 3 Theatrical and Special Effects Makeup:听

鈥淚 chose to enter WorldSkills UK as I feel听it听is听a good听opportunity听to step out of my comfort zone and gain experience. It鈥檚 a chance for me to experiment by using my creativity and imagination to see my ideas come to life. My tutors were very supportive through the whole process and听competing has given me so much more confidence.听I now get to show the world what I鈥檓 capable of!听I was home educated from the age of 12 and from there was self-taught,听so to come this far is unreal to me.鈥�听
